Merchandise Releases:
Action Figures

Released by Mattel

Save Blinky Bart is an extremely rare variant version of the Mattel 1990 Series 1 Bart Simpson action figure which was only available through a special mail in offer. It may become the ultimate "holy grail" to Simpsons action figure collectors. The figure is a repaint of the original Bart from the first Mattel series of action figures; it has white sneakers, green shorts and a white t-shirt with the words "Save Blinky" and a picture of the famous three-eyed fish.

The "Save Blinky Bart" was brought to the attention of the Simpsons Collector Sector by message board member Dr. Colossus 2F20. Recently, he sold the figure on eBay for over $1,000. Check out the auction on eBay.

A poster with a mail away coupon for the figure is the only promotional material we have found which mentions the figure. Board member dor59 found the poster and brought it to the attention of Simpsons collectors. It seems probable that the figure and promotion by Mattel never made it to a more widespread audience because the first line of Simpsons action figures that were produced did not sell as well as the company hoped.

At this time, there are only three Save Blinky Bart figures known to exist.
