SCS members rock out during Comic Con.
Friday afternoon was the annual Bongo Comics panel.
Saturday afternoon was the annual Simpsons panel. They discussed the upcoming Simpsons movie, which they said won't be any different in tone than the show itself. They also mentioned that the show will start in September this year for a few episodes before returning in November for the THOH episode. They aired a clip of the THOH episode- the opening sequence, featuring Kang and Kodos accidently sucking up the universe in a vortex after trying to speed up the baseball season so the show can start. The Q&A featured the usual questions, including the it-never-gets-old query of why the show has jumped the shark. The panel denied any animosity toward Family Guy, saying that both shows do well. Later, a fan asked "Why do you guys pick on Arby's?" The panel denied such attacks from the show, but writer Matt Selman sarcastically responded "Arby's is the Family Guy of sandwiches."
On Friday afternoon, the SCS crew held the annual Simpsons panel meeting and we even got one lurker to show up! We held an impromptu panel with your hosts- The Swan, Ketriana, Psyuctqjewhatever, myself, SloppyJimbo, and HamSalad. All the usual SCS faces turned out for a great discussion of joking around and general mockery. We answered many questions, including the fun story of the non-existent McFarlane prototypes.
Friday night was the annual SCS Dinner. This year we were hosted by the House of Blues. Those members who attended were greeted by a great buffet setup and friendly bartenders. No immature jokes were made or read. [*cough*] And a good time was had by all! Thanks to Ken and Jon for their work setting up the dinner. Next year.... Del Taco!
On Thursday night, SCS members traveled to the Dave and Busters arcade. Evil was battled and points were won.
On Saturday night, SCS members attended the Padres v. Diamondbacks game at Petco Park. Free hot dogs were enjoyed by all and, after a lengthy search, free beach towels were enjoyed by some. Petco Park aficionado Ken gave a few members a detailed tour of the stadium. The Padres emerged victorious and the game attendees were treated to an amazing fireworks show.
Several SCS members went to a downtown pub for some drinks and some good times.
Friday night, after dinner, several members went bowling. Poor B0bFrankend0rfer never did get that lobster harmonica.
On Thursday night, SCS members filled up on In 'N' Out Burger again and headed to Boomers for some fun. A quick round of miniature golf was played and many of us were soundly embarassed. Following this, the party to StBen's house for a night of good, 100% wholesome fun.C `05 - Chillin` At Saint Ben`s" target="_new">
