Magazine:

Time for another installment of 20 Questions, this time with member 100tacos for 100dollars.

1. How long have you been watching "The Simpsons"?

Actually, I started kind of late. I think it was 1995 or 1996. I remember baby-sitting my little brother. I was searching through the channels to find a cartoon or something to make him happy (and shut up). I came across the Simpsons. I forget what episode it was, but I laughed my ass off! I've been hooked ever since.

2. Who is your favorite Simpsons character?

Homer. He's so funny!

3. What Simpsons character are you most like and why?

Hmm... that's a tough one. When I was younger, I'd probably have to go with Bart. I was a very mischievious little guy. Now, I'd say I'm more like Lisa. I'm always thinking, planning things out carefully, worrying about everything and always trying to make sense of my family's "dysfunctions".

4. Are your friends and family fans of the Simpsons?

My two brothers sort of like them, but definitely not as much as me. My mother and stepfather really don't care for them. Their loss, I guess. Fri-ends? *laughs*

5. What is your favorite quote from a Simpsons episode?

Wow. There are so many great ones. I'd have to say it is a quote from Ralph. "My cat's breath smells like cat food." That is so funny! Funny because it's true. Well, after the cat eats cat food, of course. I'm sure my favorite quote will change. It always does, but right now the "cat food" one is my favorite.

6. What types of Simpsons collectibles do you collect?

A little bit of everything. WOS, FOS, cards, assorted sets, Christmas ornaments, books, tapes and DVDs, CDs, games and just about everything I like. There is so much stuff out there, I can't afford it all. I have to pick and choose what I purchase.

7. What item in your collection is your favorite?

I love everything in my collection. If I had to pick a favorite it would be this laser-type light display thing. It shows Smithers dreaming of Mr. Burns coming out of a birthday cake. That or the Treehouse of Horror I WOS playset.

8. What is the most outrageous (or difficult) thing you have done to obtain a Simpsons collectible?

I've never done anything really "outrageous." Just a lot of driving here and there. It gets frustrating when I don't find what I'm looking for, especially after driving all day to try and find it.

9. What's the most you ever spent on a Simpsons collectible?

Not too much, really. Probably the Evil Krusty doll which costs around $40. Pretty soon it will be MainStreet. I did pay $17.95 for a WOS Series One Grampa.

10. What World of Springfield figure would you most like to see (that has not been announced)?

Manjula.

11. Are you a completist? An opener or a MIMP collector? Why?

Yes, and no as far as the completist thing goes. I never did any of the ToyFare things. I consider my WOS collection complete without them. Maybe one day I'll buy them from somebody. We'll see. All other exclusives I buy though. I am an opener. I think it looks so much better to display the figures and playsets this way. It takes up less room too.

12. What are your favorite television shows (excluding the Simpsons)?

I like King of the Hill and Grounded for Life. I also enjoy watching reruns of All In The Family, The Wonder Years and The Honeymooners.

13. What celebrity do you want to see guest star on the Simpsons?

I'm not too familiar with celebrities, so I'll just choose one of my favorite bands, Slipknot. But I don't think that will ever happen.

14. How and when did you find the SCS site?

I found SCS through No Homers over a year ago. I clicked on a link and I've been hooked to this place ever since. It took me a while to finally post. Also, it took me a while to figure out HOW to post. I'm not good with computers. *laughs*

15. In what ways do you think the hobby of collecting Simpsons has changed in the past few years?

There has just been so much stuff being released. It's amazing! Salt and pepper shakers, tissues, grills, bath products, ect. It's unbelievable! I just wish I had tons of money to buy everything I see. D'oh! I'm still waiting for that day when I find Simpsons outdoor plastic-blowmold Christmas decorations. That would be sweet!

16. What was the first Simpsons item you ever bought?

I can't remember what the first item I ever bought was, but the one of the first items I ever received was the Homer/Bart Living Room radio/alarm clock. That thing is cool. It looks like another WOS playset.

17. What is the one Simpsons item you want the most but do not have?

I would like one of every item ever made. But realistically, I'd say the Simpsons cast poster signed, framed and matted by everyone who has ever worked on the Simpsons. That would be my dream item.

18. What else do you collect?

Baseball cards, hockey cards, baseball and hockey autographs and collectibles, Nascar Winston Cup racing die-casts, and N-scale model trains and railroad accessories.

19. Who influenced you the most from the show (be it character, writer, actor, etc.)?

I'd say Matt Groening. I really, truly LOVE the Simpsons! When I'm feeling down, watching a Simpsons episode makes me feel happy. The Simpsons are always there for me and I hope they always will be. Thank you Mr. Groening!

20. Anything you would like to add?

No. I mean, yes. I just want to say that I love the Simpsons and love SCS (that rhymes and you know it rhymes). I want to thank Mark, Phalen and all the mods who make this board possible and the best board EVER. Also, I would like to thank all the members. Sometimes we have our ups and downs and we may not always see eye to eye on certain things, but I feel like you are all my friends, even though I never met any of you in person and may never get the chance to. There will come a time when I and SCS will be separated forever. For whatever reason. It will eventually happen to all of us. I dread that day. This place is like a second home for me and it really means a lot to me to be a part of this great community. Long live the Simpsons!
