For many Mint on Card (MOC) collectors, Playmates' mail-away offers have been frustrating. The question is how to remove the necessary proof-of-purchase (POP) while causing minimal damage to the figure's card. SCS member NoBentWookies has figured out a good solution for the MOCers, which we lay out in this article:

Mr Burns - Side Mr Burns - Angle

Make a surgical "L" shape cut where the little cardboard insert is.  Remember there is the inside plastic bubble to guide you.  The better the cut, the easier it is to take out the card.  Use tweezers to remove card, or your fingers.

Pictures of Moe with the cardboard insert completely removed.  The better the cut, the easier it is to insert card again. Of course, the cards won't technically be 100% mint, but this method will not damage the cards and should leave the figure visibly MOC.
