Time for another installment of 20 Questions, this time with member, DohIsMe.

1. How long have you been watching "The Simpsons"?

Since the premier on the Tracy Ulman Show.

2. Who is your favorite Simpsons character?

Homer is my favorite Simpson, Prof Frink is my favorite non-Simpson.

3. What Simpsons character are you most like and why?

Prof Frink. I’m an unorganized, asocial misanthrope who is a ‘chip head, alpha geek, computer super guru’, and I’m working on new theories of the “age of the universe” and how the “missing mass/Dark matter” may be affecting the expansion of the universe.

4. Are your friends and family fans of the Simpsons?

No.

5. What is your favorite quote from a Simpsons episode?

Lately it’s been “Be More Funny!” I use it almost every time I watch the Simpsons these days...

6. What types of Simpsons collectibles do you collect?

I just started with the WoS. There will be others...

7. What item in your collection is your favorite?

My new GITD Homer.

8. What is the most outrageous (or difficult) thing you have done to obtain a Simpsons collectible?

Well, it’s only beena week, but I just had one of the people who works for me approach someone she knows at Target to secure me all 8 of Series 12. I have also gotten someone I don’t know to purchase a few of the UK items for me.

9. What's the most you ever spent on a Simpsons collectible?

GITD Homer was $130.

10. What World of Springfield figure would you most like to see (that has not been announced)?

It’s a tossup between Poochie & Mr. Sparkle.

11. Are you a completist? An opener or a MIMP collector? Why?

Completist & MIMP. You never know when the she’s gonna make you sell your stuff...

12. What are your favorite television shows (excluding the Simpsons)?

Original Twilight Zone. Original SNL. NOVA. NYPD Blue. Sports Night (comedy, not ESPN). West Wing. to name a few...

13. What celebrity do you want to see guest star on the Simpsons?

Well, I think Andy Dick & Homer could cause quite a commotion ... but there has to be a place for Jon Stewart in the future. Wouldn’t “Jim from Taxi” be a good therapist for Homer?

14. How and when did you find the SCS site?

Stumbled upon it last week from ‘No Homers’.

15. In what ways do you think the hobby of collecting Simpsons has changed in the past few years?

I’m new to collecting Simpsons (I just used to watch them for hours a day). I just started last week, and have every WoS character in Series 1 – 11 (12 is on order, I also the UK specific items and half of the UK releases), the Pin Pals, GITD Homer, Celebrities 1 & 2 (+Hank Scorpio), Cooder & Sinclair, almost all the other exclusives ... ODC is not my friend...

16. What was the first Simpsons item you ever bought?

Simpsons t-shirts when the first came out (the first week that they came out).

17. What is the one Simpsons item you want the most but do not have?

I am going to try to get a signed ‘cell’ for my new office (I’m moving in 6 weeks).

18. What else do you collect?

Advanced CompSci and Physics & Astro-Physics books. And cats (live ones).

19. Who influenced you the most from the show (be it character, writer, actor, etc.)?

It appears that my eating habits & lack of domestic assistance can be squarely blamed on Homer. I’m pretty sure that there’s enough influencing going on that I could easily file suit against most of the regulars (and some of the one-timers).

20. Anything you would like to add?

I was wearing Simpsons t-shirts so early that I because the rumored “pony tailed Simpson guy” in the NYC HP mini/mainframe community 15 years ago. And the rumors were true, I did listen to my hard-drives for 15 min a day and used a stethoscope & glasses of grape juice to diagnose hard-drive problems back when they were the size of washing machines.

A few years ago (before my stroke) I used to re-write the endings (or more) of the episodes that went ‘awry’ (and lets face it, there were plenty). Continuity and ‘staying in character’ have not been a strong point over the last few years. If I see one more “the Simpsons are going to …” episode I’m gonna start watching the Weather Channel.

I’m an executive, and I’m always using Simpsons references or sighting examples from the Simpsons in meetings and presentations. I’m never far from “On the Simpsons...”.
